The fabulous San Juan Islands and the stunning Olympic Peninsula are only a ferry ride away. Vancouver Island, Vancouver, B.C., Whistler ski area and the Cascade Mountains are all within reach. There is boating, hiking, biking, fishing, shopping or simply, as the brochures, say "doing nothing here" but relaxing and refreshing yourself. Whidbey itself is a charming island, offering fine restaurants, great seafood (try our Penn Cove mussels), wonderful shops, and spectacular views wherever you look. It is a mecca for artists of all kinds and is world renowned for its glassblowers.
Villa Luna has 3 bedrooms with one king and 2 queen size beds sleeping 6 quite comfortably. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the library. The house was designed and built by a master craftsman and the furnishings complete the feeling of understated elegance.
The cook's kitchen is fully equipped and comes complete with a 6 burner commercial range and a Sub-Zero refrigerator. The European style casual dining room will delight you with its hand painted walls and ceiling and floor to ceiling windows. At one end of the great room is the formal dining area. The large dining table can seat up to 14. The other end of the room is the living area with its comfortable furnishings and large plasma screen TV/entertainment center with a surround sound system. Each bedroom is also equipped with a plasma or LCD television and cable service. The library is complete with reading material to last for the lengthiest of stays as well as high speed internet to keep you in touch should you so choose.
Our gardens and ponds are at their most spectacular in spring through fall, but beautiful year round. You may just want to sit on the long verandah and enjoy the views out to the gardens and Puget Sound beyond while sipping your favorite beverage, or take a soak in the hot tub, which is guaranteed to be a relaxing start to your vacation.
